BACOLOD CITY – Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit here seized PHP1.46 million worth of suspected shabu from two individuals in separate buy-busts on Wednesday and Thursday, reports from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) showed.

Alias “Ati,” 27, was arrested in Purok Kahirup, Barangay Singcang-Airport past 12:30 a.m. on Thursday.

He yielded several sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 145 grams, with an estimated street value of PHP986,000.

Meanwhile, alias “Hapon,” 54, was arrested during an operation at the Country Homes Subdivision in Barangay Alijis at past 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Operatives seized from the suspect’s possession 70 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP476,000.

Both suspects are in police custody while charges are being prepared against them for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to combat illegal drugs and maintain peace and order in the city,” BCPO Director Col. Joeresty Coronica said in a statement. (PNA)
