BUTUAN CITY – Authorities have recovered two bodies after a landslide buried six people in Sitio Tagbulakan, Mahayahay, San Luis, Agusan del Sur Sunday night.

The town’s municipal engineer, Marlon Aclan, told reporters on Monday that continuous rain triggered the landslide.

As of 10 a.m. Monday, the search team recovered the bodies of Jhon Paul Abunda, 3, and Jonald Gonzales, 24, a truck driver.

Authorities are still searching for the four missing individuals: Fausta Abunda, 62; Jerry Abunda, 47; Dandan Cinco, 24; and Elvin Mantipal, 22.

San Luis Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management officer Sadat Rivera said rescue and retrieval operations are ongoing.

San Luis town Mayor Ronald Corvera said the local government is already coordinating with the families of the victims for support. (PNA)
