MANILA, Sept 19 (Mabuhay) –The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday recorded 2,367 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the total nationwide caseload to 3,920,693.

This is the seventh day with fewer than 3,000 new infections.

Based on the DOH’s latest data, the country’s active cases slightly increased to 26,401 from 26,271 on Saturday.

The number of recoveries climbed to 3,831,743 while the death toll rose by 35 to 62,549.

According to the DOH, the regions with the most cases in the last two weeks were the National Capital Region with 10,684 followed by Calabarzon with 3,777 and Central Luzon with 2,222.

The Health Department said at least 16,644 individuals were tested, while 319 testing labs submitted data on September 17.

It said that the bed occupancy in the country was 27.2%, with 7,801 beds occupied, while 20,837 were vacant. (MNS)
