MANILA, Aug 26 (Mabuhay) — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has fully vaccinated 42.19 percent of its personnel while about 47 percent have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

As of August 26, a total of 93,725 police personnel have been fully protected against the disease while 104,562 are waiting for the second dose. Only 23,845 or 10.73 percent of police personnel have yet to get their Covid-19 shots.

Meantime, the PNP reported another police who died from the coronavirus, a 34-year-old male assigned to the National Support Unit.

He succumbed to pneumonia and acute respiratory failure secondary to Covid-19 on August 25.

The police experienced mild symptoms of Covid-19 and underwent an RT-PCR test which yielded a positive result.

On August 20, he complained of difficulty in breathing and was immediately transferred to a nearby hospital. He died after five days. (MNS)
