LEGAZPI CITY – The implementation of the five-minute police response resulted in the arrest of a suspect involved in a stabbing incident in Barangay Triangulo, Naga City over the weekend.

Police Regional Office-5 Director Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr. said “Mark”, 27, of Barangay Tabugo, was saved from suspect “Arnulfo”, 44, who allegedly stabbed the victim on his right chest.

A report of the Naga City Police Station said police responded after receiving a call about the incident within the five-minute timeframe, arresting the suspect and taking the victim to the Bicol Medical Center.

In a follow-up investigation, it was found that the motive for the crime was revenge, after the victim allegedly hurt the suspect’s brother the previous day.

“This is not just a policy but a concrete implementation of our sworn duty to protect and serve the people, because in the new Philippines, what the police want is (that), you are safe,” a statement from the Naga City Police Station read.

The Bicol police urged the public to cooperate and report any crime or suspicious activity to further expedite the response of the authorities. (PNA)
