MANILA – National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin on Tuesday ordered the relief of nine cops who allegedly entered a home in Taguig City without a search warrant on Feb. 9.

Aberin said the decision to relief the police officers, including their immediate supervisor, was made to pave the way for an impartial and comprehensive investigation after a video of the incident on social media.

“The NCRPO will be merciless against erring police personnel who will be proven to have committed human rights abuses and other irregularities in the recent incident in Taguig City, going viral in social media,” Aberin said in a statement.

“There is no room for abuses in NCRPO and we will ensure that justice will be served,” he added.

A caption of the viral video claimed the cops in “Block 5” always conduct raids almost every weekend without a search warrant.

Aberin assured the public of NCRPO’s strong and uncompromising adherence to the rule of law, transparency, and professionalism. (PNA)
