The City of Anaheim is Orange County’s largest city among 34 that comprise it, the 10th most populous city in California, the 55th most populous in the country and lately earned the distinction of being identified as “number four in the 25 Happiest, Healthiest Cities in America” by Prevention Magazine.
Prevention Magazine has been “the nation’s most authoritative guide for people who want to be pro-active about their health” for over six decades according to its website.
Mayor Tom Tait of the City which was founded in 1857 identified “346 reasons” that contributed to Anaheim’s last achievement referring to the 346,000 city residents who live within its 50 miles of real estate.
The residents he said has let the world know that Anaheim, where the world famous Disneyland Resort established in 1955 is located, is the place to be.
Anaheim prides itself of having great outdoor parks, outdoor trails and indoor fitness facilities and the ranking it earned is the “residents’ true reflection of their commitment to happy and healthy living.”
Anaheim has more than 50 parks and boasts of having an interactive nature center. More parks are being planned as part of the City’s Capital Improvement Plan.
Anaheim’s “It’s Your Backyard” of Outdoors Connectivity Plan is a resource for healthy living in Anaheim which aims “to provide additional opportunities for improved public health by encouraging non-motorized access throughout the City” with the planned convenient trails, exercise stations, air and water quality improvements, community gardens, enhanced neighborhood parks, dog parks and pocket parks encouraging, healthy activity throughout the City.
The top 10 Happiest, Healthiest Cities in America for 2013 according to Prevention Magazine are: San Jose, CA; Salt Lake City, UT; Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN; Anaheim, CA; San Diego, CA; Fargo, ND; San Francisco; Madison, WI; Sioux Falls, SD; and Honolulu, HI.
Anaheim is also home to successful business companies like Carl Karcher Enterprises, Inc., L-3 Communications, Pacific Sunwear, and Disneyland Resort and to successful franchises like the Angels Baseball, Anaheim Ducks, the U.S. Men’s National Volleyball Team, and the 2012 Olympic Games Silver Medal winning U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team.
Anaheim boasts of a world-class meeting and entertainment venues with the Anaheim Convention Center, LEED-certified and the largest on the west coast, Honda Center, City National Grove of Anaheim, Anaheim Garden Walk, and Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Diversity Business Forum Expo Mixer Sept. 27
More than two dozen business associations and chambers of commerce will demonstrate that “diversity not only matters but a smart business” with the September 27 Diversity Business, Expo and Mixer at the DoubleTree/OC Airport Hotel in McArthur Boulevard in the City of Santa Ana.
Organized by the DBF-Diversity Biz Forum, the event “an exposition, showcase, business mixer, social media and business networking opportunity for business entrepreneurs, women and small business owners” according to the organizers.
