For the first time, Andi Eigenmann finally opened up on rumors linking her to former child actor Tom Taus following reports that her special relationship with rumored boyfriend, Jake Ejercito, is on the rocks.

Speaking to reporters during the Mega Magazine event last Thursday, Eigenmann said she and Taus are childhood friends ─ which was confirmed earlier by Taus’ sister, Antoinette.

“We’ve known each other since we were kids. Nag-hangout kami, we were reunited as friends. Nagkataon lang ‘yun. It’s not that nangyayari siya regularly,” she said.

Saying she and Taus only see each other during events, Eigenmann stressed, “Nagkataon lang ‘yun kasi sa events nagkikita kami. I’m busy din. I don’t really have time to go out or hangout with my friends.”

Meanwhile, Eigenmann also addressed questions about the current status of her relationship with Ejercito after she posted their picture in Boracay during the Labor Day weekend.

“I think with Jake, what you see is what you get na lang. Follow niyo na lang kami pareho sa Instagram, tapos doon niyo makikita kung ano ang nangyayari sa amin,” she said.

Last month, Eigenmann herself confirmed that she is not on good terms with Ejercito. However, she also said at that time that she wants to patch things up with him.

The two have been romantically linked since 2011.

Comparing their relationship to a “guessing game,” the 23-year-old actress said, “I was never really able to give a definite answer. But ‘yun nga I’ve always been [open] sa Instagram, sa Twitter. Nakikita niyo naman kung ano ‘yung nangyayari. Hindi naman pwede na smooth lang forever, masaya lang kayo. May mga obstacles din ‘yan.”

The two, while often seen in public together, never confirmed being officially a couple, although Eigenmann has been vocal of her feelings for Ejercito, saying at one point that what they have is “real love.”

Asked if Ejercito talked to her about Taus, the “Dyesebel” star said, “Jake knows that Tom is my friend, that I’ve known him ever since.” (MNS)
