New Kapamilya star Arci Muñoz recalled the scary accident that she figured late last year which supposedly delayed the taping of the series “Pasion de Amor.”
Muñoz explained that the delay in taping was not only because of what happened to her.
“Sakto din na Jake (Cuenca) went to New York to study for a month. So sakto, like the day before he leaves to New York, naaksidente ako. Actually, I still have the scar, but it’s healing. It’s okay na, kita mo pa rin siya sa screen, pero ganun eh. Nandiyan na siya. Siguro tanggapin ko na lang siya na trademark ko, ‘di ba?” she said.
Muñoz said the accident happened when she attended a gig of her boyfriend and she accidentally hit her head.
“Super dark. ‘Di ba kapag rock and roll, [may] head bang? Hindi ko nakita na may mic pala in front of me… Nung tumama ako, nag-blackout na ako,” she said.
Muñoz said her friends had to rush her to a hospital because there was a lot of blood.
“Nagising ako tinatahi na ‘yung mata ko. Sabi ko, ‘Anong ginagawa niyo? Is it bad?’ Hindi sila sumasagot, ‘yung mga friends ko. ‘No, no.’ Alam mo ‘yung parang sa telenovela? Ganun. Accident-prone ako eh,” she explained.
Until today, Muñoz said she is still undergoing laser treatment to remove the scar.
The actress said she was so scared back then because she thought the accident would cost her her job.
“I’ve been given this rare opportunity tapos ganito pa ‘yung nangyari. Kaya nung time na iyon sobra akong depressed. Hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko. Sa isip ko, ‘Ano ba? Para sa akin ba talaga?’ Nung time na iyon naisip ko na kung hindi na ba ako mag-aartista,” she said.
Munoz said this is the reason why she considers her “Pasion de Amor” casting as a blessing.
“Ongoing na ang lahat, nag-workshop na kami. Tapos bigla akong naaksidente. Buti na lang din si Jake, naka-set na ‘yung pagpunta niya sa New York,” she said. “Sabi ko sa isip ko, ‘Jake tagalan mo pa diyan [sa New York].’ Kasi kailangan ko talaga ng mahabang oras para magpagaling. Thank God nandito pa rin ako.”
Aside from Cuenca and Muñoz, “Pasion de Amor” also features Coleen Garcia, Ellen Adarna, Ejay Falcon and Joseph Marco.
It is set to air on ABS-CBN starting June 1.
