CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Authorities arrested a drug suspect and seized some PHP6.8 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Balanga City, Bataan on Thursday morning.

Operatives from Balanga’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested the suspect in Barangay Bagong Silang around 10:45 a.m. and confiscated one kilogram of the illegal substance, buy-bust money, and various drug paraphernalia.

Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3) Director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. lauded the operatives’ quick action, crediting accurate intelligence and decisive execution for the success.

“This operation, guided by actionable intelligence, shows that PRO-3 remains firm and uncompromising in its fight against illegal drugs,” Peñones said in a statement.

The suspect and confiscated evidence were turned over to the Balanga police office for proper documentation.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspect. (PNA)
