MANILA – Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque is still in the country, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported on Monday.

“As per BI records po, (Roque is still) in the country. No recorded recent attempt to depart (the Philippines),” BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval said in a message to reporters.

She issued the clarification after Vice President Sara Duterte reportedly hinted in her Nov. 23 online press conference that Roque might have already left the country.

In August, the BI issued an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) against Roque.

A separate ILBO was issued against his wife, Mylah, last Sept. 16. However, Mylah reportedly left for Singapore to seek medical treatment on Sept. 3.

The couple snubbed quad committee hearings at the House of Representatives to shed light on their alleged involvement in Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) in the country.

Separate arrest orders have been issued by the House for their failure to attend the hearings and to submit documents, including records of their assets. (PNA)
