MANILA – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday reported the arrest of four foreign nationals in separate operations in Nueva Ecija and Iloilo for various violations.
In a report Tuesday, BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said a South African, Pakistani and two Chinese nationals were apprehended on Feb. 12 and 13.
Faaiz Ameer Garnie, 32, was arrested on Feb. 12 at Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija for working for a company other than his petitioning employer, in violation of the terms of his 9G working visa.
Authorities proceeded to the work site where Garnie was found actively working as project manager. He was unable to present his passport or immigration documents at the time of inspection.
In the same operation, Imran Khattak was also found working at the site as an operations specialist without a valid working visa.
On Feb. 13, BI Intelligence Division operatives arrested Wang Jiabai, also known as Kevin Wang, 43, and Wang Libi, also known as Lisa, 46, in Iloilo for overstaying and violation of the conditions of their stay.
Wang Jiabai was found managing a business establishment in Balasan despite having no valid visa extension, while Wang Libi was apprehended in Barotac Nuevo after being found working in a company other than her petitioning employer and failing to present a valid passport or immigration documents during inspection.
