Bienvenido “Boi” Sibug, an art director, artist. For more than 35 years now, Boi Sibug has been capturing the essence of a typical world he grew up in with his paintings, portraits, designs and photographs, originally from Manila, Philippines, where he studied fine arts, painted, worked in advertising agencies, and exhibited his works in more than 70 art shows. Sibug moved to the island of Guam in 1992 to accomplish more works described by art critics from Asia as “a collection of artistic gems.”

While Sibug employs multiple media, his forte resides in oil, watercolor, pastel, and charcoal. His talents do extend to creating graphic design and photographs, but his exceptional sense of colors and composition leads ultimately to a powerful rendering of images of beauty and order in the Pacific milieu.

Expectedly Sibug has been recognized through numerous awards for his works, and some of his paintings have become permanent features of galleries and lobbies of the finest places in Guam, Manila and USA.

Sibug, together with other top US-based artists, will donate part of his proceeds from his works to be auctioned off during the January 21, 2012 “Sining Para sa Bayan” at Noypitz Bar and Restaurant in Glendale, California. Apart from the silent auction, “Sining sa Bayan” will also feature a concert starring folk legend Florante, Becca Godinez, jazz pianist Tateng Katindig, saxophonist Ner De Leon, tenor Jonathan Badon, Mon Concepcion, Malou Toler and many others, for the benefit of typhoon Sendong victims in Northern Mindanao who are members of the media.
