MANILA – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Friday declared a failed bidding for the auction of 11 luxury vehicles after no bidders showed up for the scheduled sale.

The BOC Auction Committee announced the outcome during proceedings held at the Situation Room on the ground floor of the Office of the Commissioner (OCOM) building in Port Area, Manila.

Lawyer Jann Obillos, head of the committee, said Customs Administrative Order No. 03-2020 states that an auction should be declared as failed bidding in the event that no bid was received.

“I, together with the members of the Auction Committee present today, hereby declared this public auction failed due to the absence of registered bidders,” Obillos said.

Despite the setback, the agency said another auction has already been scheduled.

“For your information, the next public auction for the luxury vehicles will be on April 28,” Obillos said.

The vehicles up for auction are a Rolls-Royce Cullinan 2021, Bentley Continental 2021, Mercedes-Benz S680 Maybach 2023, BMW X6 2023, Jeep Wrangler 2021, Lexus ES 2019, Ferrari SF90 Stradale (Mansory) 2024, Rolls-Royce Phantom 2023, Mercedes-Benz G650 V12 BI Turbo 2022, BMW XM 2024 and Lexus LX570 2018.

The BOC is aiming to generate around PHP200 million from the sale of the high-end vehicles. (PNA)
