MANILA – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on Monday warned the public regarding the fraudulent use of BSP Deputy Governor Chuchi Fonacier’s image to offer online jobs.

In an advisory, the BSP said it received reports of unsolicited Viber messages from a sender using Fonacier’s photo, offering jobs in an e-commerce company with daily earnings ranging from PHP500 to PHP5,000.

The BSP reminded the public that job vacancies are posted on its website and official social media accounts.

“To guard against possible illegal activities, the BSP urges the public to refrain from engaging with and providing personal information to unknown individuals,” it said.

The public is also encouraged to verify the authenticity of any messages or transactions claiming to involve BSP personnel, and to report unauthorized activities to the BSP. (PNA)
