CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Provincial police on Monday seized weapons, ammunition and illegal drugs from a suspect following a raid on a house in Barangay Sumandig in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
In a statement on Tuesday, Col. Satur Ediong, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, said the operatives executed a search warrant on Monday afternoon that resulted in the arrest of the suspect identified only as “Ed,” a 47-year-old resident of the barangay.
Ediong said authorities discovered several illegal weapons inside the suspect’s residence, including a pistol equipped with a laser sight, two suspected converted rifles with scopes, magazines, and a stockpile of ammunition.
”The operatives also found a fragmentation grenade, further highlighting the potential threat posed by the suspect,” Ediong said.
Aside illegal firearms, Ediong said police also found dried marijuana leaves, a weighing scale, and drug paraphernalia in the house, reinforcing suspicion of the suspect’s involvement in illegal drug activities.
Police Regional Office-3 Regional Director Gen. Jean Fajardo, meanwhile, commended the Bulacan police for their successful operation.
“This operation sends a clear and strong message — there is no place for lawlessness in Central Luzon,” she said in a separate statement.
“We will continue to hunt down those who possess illegal firearms and peddle dangerous substances.”
The suspect is facing multiple charges related to illegal possession of firearms, explosives, and illegal drugs. (PNA)
