Influenced by tropical sounds and warm California vibes, the Quitapenas takes centerstage as the City of Carson presents the 2nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration.

The festivities will take place on Saturday, September 19th from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Carson Park located at 21411 S. Orrick Avenue in Carson.  The event is open to the public and admission is free.

The performers featured in this year’s program include the Tlanextli Tlacotan Aztec Dancers, Grupo Folklorico Faisan, Pasion Latina, Alma Latina de Lynwood, Alma De Oro, and Carson’s very own Mariachi Academy.  Comedian Ralph Figueroa will be emcee for the event.

National Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes the contributions of Hispanic and Latino-Americans in the United States and celebrates the group’s heritage and culture.

“Hispanic Heritage Month allows us as a city to celebrate the rich culture of a prominent segment of the American population.  During the month of September, we celebrate the diversity that truly makes our city unique and recognize the contributions of Hispanics to our country through music and festivities,” said Carson’s Mayor Albert Robles.
