MANILA (Mabuhay) -– Charice broke her silence in an attempt to clear her name amid rumors that she demanded a lot of things during her concert tour abroad last year.
Charice explained this was actually one of the reasons why she cut her ties with her former manager Glenn Aldueza.
“Actually ‘yung contract natapos na talaga May pa. Pero that time kasi I was in the middle of the tour. He was there with me just so para meron akong acting manager. May mga questions po na parang hindi niya masagot ng malinaw. That time, I had a feeling na there was something wrong. Hindi ako mahilig mag-confront,” Charice said of Aldueza.
Aldueza became Charice’s manager during the singer’s year-long misunderstanding with her mother, Raquel. Aldueza is a close friend of their family.
“Siya mismo ‘yung nagsabi na wala talaga siyang alam about sa pagma-manage. Siya mismo ‘yung nagsabi sa akin na ako ‘yung mag-guide sa kanya. So kapag nakakakita ako ng mga mali noon, sinasabi ko sa kanya,” Charice said.
When Charice decided not to renew her contract with Aldueza, that was only the time when her camp learned about the things that he failed to do.
“Tinanong ko siya (Charice) kasi siyempre isang taon na mahigit ko siyang hindi nakasama, sa kanya ko din nalaman na walang report na ibinibgay sa kanya si Glen. Doon na nabagabag si Glen, nung hinihingi na [ang mga papeles],” Charice’s mother said.
Charice said her camp asked for a meeting so Aldueza could properly explain himself and show them the necessary documents.
“Nag-set po kami ng meeting para in a professional way talaga… Nag-commit na siya. He was going to bring all the documents. Nakarating na po kami. Ang nakita lang po namin isang plastic and sa loob nun, parang random papers. May isang folder doon na when I opened it, parang summarized without any explanations or receipts,” she said.
Among the “unfavorable” things which Aldueza did was in connection with Charice’s supposed show in Alaska.
“Sinabi niya sa akin noon na I was going to have a show sa Alaska. After two months, binalita niya sa akin na imo-move daw ‘yung show. Ako naman, I waited until nakausap ko mismo ‘yung promoter and sinabi sa akin mismo ‘yung nangyari,” Charice narrated.
“Yung mga producers sa show, kaya nila gusto i-move ‘yung show kasi they were waiting for my answer kung okay nga ‘yung show. The thing is, hindi niya ako tinatanong kung okay ako… Siguro nagbigay sila ng 50% down payment. Alam ko na na cancel ‘yung show. For them, sila ‘yung naloko and parang ako ‘yung nanloko. Hindi niya binalik ‘yung 50%,” she said.
According to Charice, she recently learned that Aldueza is already in Canada since November. Her career is now being managed by Grace Mendoza.
Asked if she has any message to those who may have thought of her differently, Charice said: “I apologize kasi ang dami kong nabalitaan. Nung nag-tour po ako, ang dami kong narinig na demanding daw ako. I apologize sa lahat ng mga nagkaroon ng problema kay Glenn.”
“Sana hangga’t hindi nila naririnig galing talaga sa akin, sana huwag tayo agad agad naniniwala. I’m a real person. Itong sasabihin ko, I love what I do. I’m not saying I’m a perfect person. I’m just real,” she said. (MNS)
