MANILA – The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) had arrested five individuals included in Central Visayas’ most wanted persons list.

The five, all facing murder and frustrated murder charges, were nabbed during a manhunt in Barangay Nagbinlod in Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental on Feb. 12, according to a belated CIDG report Friday.

The CIDG identified the five by their aliases Felix, Renato, Daniel, Julian and Angelito, all residents of Negros Oriental.

They are accused of involvement in a shooting that killed one and injured two in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental due to a land dispute.

Judge Maria Myla Rae Santos-Orden of Bayawan City Regional Trial Court Branch 63 ordered the arrest of the five on Feb. 5. The bail for attempted murder was set at PHP120,000 while no bail was recommended for murder.

“We are relentless in tracking fugitives and ensuring that they are held accountable for the crimes they committed,” CIDG Director Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III in a statement on Friday. (PNA)
