Coco Martin, who is known for his dramatic roles in films and television, is ready to take on comedy in his first movie co-starring long-time friend Vice Ganda.

The 33-year-old actor shared what to expect from the Star Cinema project on the sidelines of the joint thanksgiving party of his horror film “Feng Shui” and Vice Ganda’s “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin”.

The Wenn Deramas movie co-starring Bimby Aquino-Yap has earned P415 million, while the horror film by Chito Rono has raked in P225 million as of January 9, according to Star Cinema.

The “Ikaw Lamang” star expects to have a smooth and fun working relationship with Vice Ganda, whom he considers his best friend. What he is looking forward to more, however, is the result of their first professional collaboration.

Itong movie na ‘to, napaka espesyal sa amin kasi ‘yung collaboration, nanggaling sa aming dalawa ‘yung konsepto,” he said.

Explaining how the project came about, Martin added: “Isang araw lang, ‘Why not?’

The still-untitled film is set to be released this year, according to Martin.

In a separate interview, Vice Ganda expressed confidence that the movie will be a hit at the box office, just like his and Martin’s respective outings in the just-concluded 40th Metro Manila Film Festival.

(MNS)
