MANILA, Jan 10 (Mabuhay) – Filipinos will continue to wake to cold weather this month, as the Northeast Monsoon or Hanging Amihan continues to dominate Luzon.
Weather bureau PAGASA’s Science Garden recorded 18.9 degrees Celsius alone and an even cooler 10.6 degrees Celsius at Baguio City Saturday morning.
Baguio’s temperature marked the lowest recorded temperature for the country this year.
Data from the Weather Company indicated that light rainshowers are also possible in the eastern section of Luzon and Visayas.
Meanwhile, Mindanao – especially the CARAGA region – were forewarned of moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Gale warnings were also raised for the seaboards of CARAGA, Luzon, and Visayas due to sea waves reaching 3.4 to 4.5 meters in height.
PAGASA is also monitoring a Low Pressure Area 3,000km outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, which may enter the country on Wednesday and hit Eastern Visayas next weekend. (MNS)
