MANILA – Chery Tiggo and Cignal will try to secure the last two quarterfinal berths in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at Philsports Arena in Pasig on Tuesday.
The Crossovers face the Farm Fresh Foxies at 4 p.m., while the HD Spikers meet the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles at 6:30 p.m.
Chery Tiggo defeated Nxled, 25-22, 26-24, 25-12, in Pool B, while Cignal prevailed over Capital1, 25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 25-15, in Pool A Thursday. Victories on Tuesday would guarantee their seats in the next round.
Cess Robles, Shaya Adorador, Pauline Gaston, Ara Galang, Seth Rodriguez and Aby Maraño are expected to deliver for the Crossovers.
“Our mindset is really to maintain that killer instinct and hopefully, we can carry it over to our game against Farm Fresh. We also need to keep up our teamwork, listen to our coaches and once we gain the lead, we have to keep pushing hard because these games are no joke. We’re going all out,” Adorador, who scored 14 points against the Nxled Chameleons, said in a news release.
Leading the Farm Fresh Foxies are Trisha Tubu, Aly Bertolano, Caitlyn Viray, Jolina Dela Cruz and Louie Romero.
Meanwhile, Cignal will rely on Vanie Gandler, Roselyn Doria-Aquino, Jackie Acuña, Dawn Catindig, Gel Cayuna and rookie Ishie Lalongisip.
“We’re always looking at the brighter side of every situation because if we focus on the negatives, nothing good will happen to our team. It’s like a blessing in disguise since we get to play more games and encounter situations where we can learn how to handle things better, which we can carry over to our future matches,” Lalongisip said.
ZUS Coffee will be spearheaded by Jovelyn Gonzaga, Thea Gagate, Michelle Gamit, Gayle Pascual and Chinnie Arroyo. (PNA)
