Daniel Padilla does not feel offended by the comments made by Tony Award winner Lea Salonga on “The Voice Kids” during its live Saturday broadcast.

Padilla said he still respects the veteran singer.

“Narinig ko lang po ‘yun kanina. Sabi rin po ni Mama, talagang mataas ang respeto natin kay Ms. Lea. Baka nadala lang po si Ms. Lea ng [emosyon],” she said.

During the live show of the talent program, Salonga lauded Team Bamboo’s Juan Karlos Labajo for his rendition of Bruno Mar’s “Runaway Baby.”

“I’m actually looking at you as a 13-year-old and seeing what you’re going to be like five years from now. ‘Yung mga DJ na yan, ‘yung mga… wala, sorry. Their names are going to be erased once you get to that age,” she said.

“Because you are incredibly… kasi ang charm mo talagang nagamit dito sa number na ito. ‘Yung looks mo, ‘yung charm mo, talagang gamit na gamit na gamit. Your coach picked the right song for you,” she added.

Saying he does not consider it a big deal, Padilla said: “Hindi naman po ‘yun issue kaya huwag na natin [pag-usapan]. Okay lang po ‘yun. Baka nadala lang. ‘Yun lang ‘yun.”

Salonga already apologized to Padilla and to his supporters on Twitter on Sunday saying she did not mean to disrespect anybody.

Meanwhile, Padilla thanked everyone who already watched his latest movie “She’s Dating the Gangster,” which he co-stars with Kathryn Bernardo.

As of writing, the Star Cinema movie has already earned P200 million since it opened in theaters nationwide last July 16.

Thank you po sa lahat ng nanood and sa nagkagusto po sa palabas. Talagang maraming, maraming salamat po,” he said.

Among all the movies that he has made, Padilla believes this is the project where he had truly given all his efforts.

In “She’s Dating the Gangster,” Padilla plays the role of Kenji, a “gangster” who attempts to win back his former girlfriend by entering a pretend relationship with Bernardo’s character, Athena.

Apart from the fans, several critics also had positive comments about the latest “KathNiel” team-up. (MNS)
