MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – The Department of Education (DepEd) Dagupan City Schools Division has assured full cooperation in the investigation of the teacher arrested for alleged involvement in illegal drugs.

“We will cooperate fully with law enforcement as they investigate this incident,” DepEd Dagupan said in a statement on Thursday, adding that counseling and support will be provided to students and the school community following the incident.

The division expressed deep concern over the incident and underscored its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of conduct among educators.

It also clarified that the incident occurred outside the school premises.

“We remain committed to ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment for our students and will take appropriate steps to address any impact on our schools,” it added.

The 51-year-old teacher was arrested on April 8 during a search operation in his residence in Barangay Pantal.

Authorities seized approximately PHP1.27 million worth of suspected shabu and dried marijuana leaves. (PNA)
