MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) reported another 29 road traffic cases related to the holiday season as of 6 a.m. Friday.

This brought the overall tally to 606 with seven fatalities.

Four of those who died were involved in motorcycle accidents.

The DOH noted total cases are 31 percent higher compared to those reported in 2024.

About 527 victims did not wear safety accessories like helmets and seatbelts; 433 were involved in motorcycle accidents; and 115 consumed alcohol before traveling.

Motorists are reminded to avoid overspeeding, follow traffic signs and signals, wear safety accessories, refrain from drinking and driving, and to sleep at least seven to eight hours before hitting the road. (PNA)
