MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday warned private security training agencies against using photos or any visual representation of police personnel for their advertisements and promotional materials.
Under memorandum advisory no. 020 dated May 27, 2025, the use of images of uniformed or non-uniformed PNP personnel in flyers, brochures, banners, online posts and other materials is prohibited.
Such activity may mislead the public by creating a false impression of official endorsement or affiliation with the PNP.
The PNP Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA) said training agencies should remove this type of material and pay attention to the proper use of police insignia and uniforms.
“Ensure compliance with this advisory to avoid any administrative sanction or the revocation of License to Operate. Your cooperation in upholding the integrity and impartiality of the PNP as well as protecting the image of both the police organization and the private security industry, is expected and appreciated,” read the memorandum.
The SOSIA will conduct regular audits to ensure the compliance of private security training firms’ with the memorandum. (PNA)
