KORONADAL CITY – A quick-thinking courier in General Santos (GenSan) City surrendered two packages containing dried marijuana leaves to the police on Friday morning, successfully foiling the transport of the prohibited substance.
Brig. Gen. Arnold Ardiente, Director of the Police Regional Office-Soccsksargen, said the courier became suspicious due to the unusual smell emanating from the parcels.
He took the items to the Police Station 3 in GenSan.
The sender, alias “Edmar” of Barangay Labangal, addressed one package to alias “Ralph” of Bunawan, Agusan del Sur and the other to alias “Ash” of Palawan.
Ardiente lauded the courier for his timely intervention.
“That was a noble move on the part of the courier,” he said in a statement, stressing that the action helped prevent the prohibited items from reaching other regions. (PNA)
