MANILA – PLDT and Choco Mucho square off Thursday in what is expected to be an exciting duel at 6:30 p.m. in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The High Speed Hitters improved their record to 4-2 after pulling off a 25-22, 25-16, 25-15 victory over the Akari Chargers, while the Flying Titans prevailed over the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, 20-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-9, to notch their fourth win against three losses last week.
Savi Davison, Mary Joy Baron, Erika Santos and Dell Palomata will banner PLDT, which is tied with Chery Tiggo at fourth in the rankings.
Davison delivered 15 points, including two kill blocks, and six excellent receptions in the game against Akari. Baron had 11 while Santos and Palomata added 10 and seven points, respectively.
Choco Mucho, on the other hand, will try to keep its winning form with the help of Sisi Rondina, who scored 25 points point against ZUS Coffee.
The Flying Titans will also bank on Dindin Manabat, Isa Molde and Lorraine Pecana.
Meanwhile, Akari hopes to bounce back when it tackles Nxled at 4 p.m.
The Chargers (3-4) will be led by Faith Nisperos, Ivy Lacsina, Erika Raagas and Ezra Madrigal, while the Chameleons will rely on Jaila Atienza, Lycha Ebon and Chiara Permentilla and new recruit EJ Laure in a bid to end a six-game slump. (PNA)
