CALASIAO, Pangasinan – Operatives seized over PHP1 million worth of shabu from a regional priority high-value individual (HVI) in a buy-bust operation along the bypass road of Barangay Poblacion, Lingayen town, Pangasinan on Tuesday night.

The Police Regional Office Ilocos (PRO1) identified the suspect as a 38-year-old construction worker from Mangaldan town.

“Confiscated from him were two heat-sealed and five knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing shabu weighing more or less 160 grams,” said Pangasinan PPO information officer Capt. Aileen Catugas in a phone interview on Wednesday.

The suspect faces charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165).

PRO1 director Brig. Gen. Reyes, meanwhile, said this is part of the Pangasinan police’s continuous campaign against illegal drugs.

“This operation delivers a decisive impact in our continuing battle against illegal drug trade in the region. The strong coordination and teamwork among our operating units and partners ensure that all actions and programs are implemented for the safe Ilocandia,” Reyes added. (PNA)
