MANILA (Mabuhay) — As they say, fame comes with a price.
In the case of “Forevermore” lead stars Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano, who maintain a healthy following on their respective social media accounts, it is dealing with critics online.
The 17-year-old Soberano recently came under fire after suffering a wardrobe malfunction last June and for posting a controversial tweet pertaining to American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. during his May 2 bout against Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao.
The Star Magic artist has since apologized after being called out by a follower for supposedly using “gay” to ridicule Mayweather, saying it was not his intention to offend or degrade anyone.
Gil said that he has a simple solution for those who bash him online: Ignore them.
“Some people, they like to bash you or say bad things because they want you to reply,” he said. “Iyun ang style nila eh. So hindi na lang ako magre-reply tapos. Kasi kung magre-reply ka, hindi titigil.”
Asked if he has become cautious in sharing things online, he said: “Para sa akin, not really. Ang sa akin naman, I don’t mean to hurt anybody’s feelings. I just want to have fun and post what I feel.” (MNS)
