MANILA, Aug 16 (Mabuhay) — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to the Manila Public Information Office on Sunday, Moreno was on his way to the Sta. Ana Hospital at around 6:48 p.m.

“Nakararamdam ako ng kaunting ubo, kaunting sipon. Masakit ang aking katawan ngayon,” Moreno said. [I have a bit of cough and mucus. My body hurts at the moment.]

The mayor told his constituents that the city government will continue its operations and efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Kapit lang. Tuloy ang buhay. Tuloy pa rin ang gobyerno sa Maynila. Umasa tayo, magtiwala tayo sa Diyos, makararaos din tayo,” he said.

Moreno’s diagnosis comes a week after Manila Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna confirmed that she had tested positive for the coronavirus. (MNS)
