MANILA (Mabuhay) — ACTRESS Iza Calzado shared she is not ready yet to settle down and start her own family as she believes that she still has a lot of things to accomplish in her career.
“I don’t see it yet happening anytime soon. It’s not like it’s not going to happen pero iniisip ko pa talaga ay trabaho. Trabaho pa talaga ang focus ko ngayon and marami pa akong pangarap,” she said.
The actress added that her boyfriend, Fil-Brit businessman Ben Wintle is also not ready yet to become a father.
She said they are both prioritizing their respective careers.
“There are a lot of things that I want to do, but it doesn’t mean hindi ako magkakaroon ng pamilya because I do want to have a family. Especially pag may mga kasama kang bata, it warms your heart, it makes you want to have a family. My boyfriend is also not at that point in his life that he’s very ready. Baka hilaw pa kung minadali. Panget naman.”
Calzado said she is planning to take a short course abroad that would help further improve her acting skills.
“Hindi ko pa talaga alam and depende pa talaga kung saan ako dadalhin ng buhay ko next year. Bucket list ko lang siya na hindi ko pa nagawa. I want to learn how to be in the scene, continue to be in the moment. And in the character development. Paano gumawa ng isang buong role,” she said.
She said that she considers taking the acting classes in Los Angeles, New York, London or Sydney.
“I don’t know where’s the best place for me and I haven’t researched thoroughly kasi this year bigla na lang akong naging busy. I barely have time for myself and I didn’t even take a full vacation. Inuna ko muna ang trabaho.”
Calzado said that by taking a short course in acting is her way of continuously learning her role in show business. It would not only help improve her skills, but will also give the audience the kind of performance they expect from actors like her.
“Sa tingin ko napakalayo pa ng pwede kong marating bilang isang thespian. I still have to do theater, I still have to do so many things, I still have to explore facets of my artistry. I don’t think I will ever be satisfied. I want to continue growing… learning.” (MNS)
