MANILA, Sept 2 (Mabuhay) — Jaclyn Jose just announced she is retiring from show business.
The award-winning actress took to social media to make the announcement, posting her red carpet walk at the recent GMA Thanksgiving Gala with the instrumental version of Jose Mari Chan’s “Beautiful Girl” playing in the background.
“I am retiring, maraming salamat po,” Jaclyn wrote.
In succeeding comments on her Instagram post, the actress admitted it was a painful decision but one she needed to make as her daughters Andi and Gwen are her top priorities.
“Masakit,” she said. “But I know I have to go.”
“I just sooooo luv Andi and Gwen most and foremost to have come into this,” Jaclyn continued.
Jaclyn last appeared on TV on GMA’s “Bolera” as Kylie Padilla’s mom.
She is among the top actress of Philippine showbiz having made history as the first Filipino to win the Cannes Best Actress trophy in 2016 for her incredible work in Brillante Mendoza’s “Ma’ Rosa.” (MNS)
