Actress KC Concepcion, the United Nations-World Food Program’s (UN-WFP) national ambassador, on Sunday asked for prayers as her group readies to travel to remote areas in Uganda.

Concepcion said she and her group are “going on a 10-hour road trip and no signal for 2 days.”

According to Concepcion, they already visited a remote area where locals have no choice but “to drink cows’ blood ’cause the land is so barren, there’s no water.”

Concepcion flew to Africa on Saturday to fulfill her obligations as WFP national ambassador.

It is her first mission outside the Philippines. She will reportedly stay in Uganda for a week.

A nervous Concepcion said that she readied herself for the trip.

She said, “Uso po ang malaria doon kaya nga kinakabahan ako ng sobra. Tsaka lahat ng mga insect repellents, lahat ng mga long sleeves tsaka may medyas talaga ako para kapag natulog ako [may proteksyon ako].”
