COTABATO CITY – Kidapawan City Mayor Paolo Evangelista has offered a PHP100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of four men who attempted to rob the Gaisano Grand Mall on Monday night but left empty-handed.
The suspects reportedly accessed the mall through drainage canals and broke into the floor of a tenant shop, Evangelista said in a statement Tuesday.
“They managed to enter the premises and access several shops but failed to take any valuable items,” he added.
Mall workers and security guards discovered the break-in early Tuesday before the mall opened. Tools used in the attempted heist were recovered along the drainage canal leading to a teashop.
City Police Director Lt. Col. Dominador L. Palgan Jr. said the suspects appeared familiar with the mall’s drainage layout, avoided sensors, and escaped undetected.
“The reward aims to expedite the arrest and prosecution of these individuals,” Evangelista said, urging the public to come forward with any information.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing. (PNA)
