ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office in Central Luzon (PRO 3) on Monday reported the arrest of a Korean national facing charges of carnapping.
Jaehoon Yoo, 43, was arrested on Sunday inside a bar in Barangay Balibago by Police Station 4 operatives of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) in coordination with the City Intelligence Unit (CIU), the PRO-3 said.
The arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Rodrigo Ido Del Rosario of Pampanga Regional Trial Court Branch 114.
The suspect is facing charges under Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Law. The court set his bail at PHP300,000.
“This arrest serves as a strong reminder that anyone who violates Philippine laws will be held accountable,” PRO-3 Director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said in a statement.
Fajardo warned foreign nationals against engaging in unlawful activities in the country, emphasizing that Central Luzon will not serve as a haven for criminals.
“No one is above the law, and we will continue our relentless pursuit of individuals attempting to evade justice,” Fajardo said. (PNA)
