MANILA – The Colegio de San Juan de Letran defeated Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), 75-73, Wednesday to gain a share of second place in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 100 men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.

Kevin Santos had 17 points, six blocks, five rebounds, and one steal as the Knights joined the University of Perpetual Help Altas in second place at 4-2, behind the College of Saint Benilde Blazers (4-1).

Vince Cuajao contributed 14 points, including three triples, to go with three assists, two rebounds, and one steal while Sherick Estrada added 11 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one block for Letran, which posted a 47-33 lead at halftime.

Paolo Javillonar contributed 10 points, five rebounds, and two assists.

EAC fell into a three-way tie for fourth place with San Sebastian College-Recoletos and Jose Rizal University at 2-4.

King Gurtiza led the Generals with 19 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal, followed by Gelo Loristo and Kyle Jacob, who both scored 11 points.

In the other game, Lyceum of the Philippines University downed Mapua University, 96-81.

The Pirates and the Cardinals are tied for third with the San Beda University Red Lions at 3-2. (PNA)
