MANILA – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Tuesday suspended for 90 days the license of the driver involved in a hit-and-run collision in Santolan Road, San Juan City, that went viral on social media.

The LTO also summoned both the driver and the registered owner of the vehicle to appear before the LTO on Sept. 29 to explain the incident.

“Ito’y bilang tugon sa mahigpit na paalala ng Pangulo na maging responsableng motorista para sa kaligtasan ng lahat ng road users (This is in line with the strict call of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to be responsible motorists for the safety of all road users),” it said.

In a dashcam video that went viral on social media, a white Honda City sedan counterflowed and hit a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) along Santolan Road on Sept. 20.

The white vehicle allegedly ran away after the collision.

The driver and the owner of the sedan are facing possible charges, including reckless driving and improper person to operate a motor vehicle.

The Honda City car was also placed on an alarm to block all transactions with the LTO. (PNA)
