SHARIFF AGUAK, Maguindanao del Sur – The police are on heightened security across the province following three separate weekend shootings that left three dead and three wounded.
The most recent attack occurred around 3 p.m. Sunday when a rescue vehicle carrying three Barangay Peace Action Team members was ambushed while responding to a flooded area. One was killed and two others wounded in the attack along the national highway.
“This violence occurred while the election gun ban remains in effect,” provincial police director Col. Bobby Ryan Paloma said in a statement Monday.
On Saturday, Lakmudin Uga, 50, was killed, and his wife wounded in Pandag town. His nephew Allan Uga, a retired soldier, was fatally shot hours later in Buluan.
Police are investigating possible connections between the Pandag and Buluan cases. All victims were attacked by motorcycle-riding suspects, who are all at-large. (PNA)
