MANILA – Season players Clyde Mondilla and Reymon Jaraula are returning to the Philippine Golf Tour (PGT), aiming for success in the ICTSI Bacolod Golf Challenge, which kicks off at the Bacolod Golf and Country Club in Binitin, Murcia on Sept. 2.
Mondilla, a former Philippine Open titlist and multi-time PGT champion, skipped the last two legs at Forest Hills and Caliraya Springs due to prior commitments. He won the Caliraya Springs leg last year, prevailing over Angelo Que by three strokes.
Jaraula, on the other hand, is eyeing his second straight title in Bacolod where he defeated Que by one stroke last year.
Jaraula, who skipped the recent Caliraya Springs leg, placed fourth at Forest Hills.
Que, Guido van der Valk, and Keanu Jahns, who dominated the season’s first four legs, are also expected to perform well.
Veterans Tony Lascuña, Jhonnel Ababa, Zanie Boy Gialon, Rupert Zaragosa, and promising young players Carl Corpus, Aidric Chan, and Sean Ramos are joining the title hunt along with Ira Alido, Michael Bibat, Jay Bayron, and Fidel Concepcion.
Other entries are Dino Villanueva, Ryan Monsalve, American Collin Wheeler, Japanese Junichi Katayama, and Toru Nakajima, and Koreans Jisung Cheon, Kim Tae Soo, Taewon Ha, and Kim Tae Won. (PNA)
