MANILA – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested three women for trying to sell a property in Subic, Zambales using fake ownership papers.
The National Bureau of Investigation-Olongapo District Office nabbed the trio on Sept. 18 for syndicated swindling, falsification of public and official documents and use of falsified documents, according to a news release on Monday.
Investigations showed that one of the suspects assumed the identity of the lot owner and tried to sell the property to the complainant for PHP2 million.
The three also attempted to sell the same property to another victim using a different title.
The victims sought the help of the NBI while the Registry of Deeds later confirmed that the titles were all counterfeit.
The three suspects were caught while receiving money from the complainant during an entrapment operation.
Meanwhile, the NBI-Sarangani District Office also reported the arrest of an individual in General Santos City for sexual assault and qualified rape of a minor.
The victim said she was abused by the suspect, her stepfather, on multiple occasions last January.
The Prosecutor’s Office of General Santos City agreed with the NBI’s recommendation, which led to the issuance of a warrant of arrest by the Regional Trial Court Branch 11 in General Santos City. (PNA)
