MANILA – The National Bureau of Investigation has arrested a man in Pagadian City who reposted an online photo of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. with the word “headshot” superimposed over it.

In a statement on Wednesday, the NBI – Cybercrime Division (NBI-CCD) said it arrested Michael Romero, alias Mike Romero, in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur on Tuesday and charged him with inciting to sedition and violation of Republic Act 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

In a post on Facebook, Romero posted the words “Headshot” superimposed on an image of President Marcos, which was overlaid with a red arrow.

A two-day joint operation by the NBI-CCD and NBI-Pagadian District Office led to the identification of the suspect’s residence.

He admitted that he is the owner of the Facebook account “Mike Romero” and was promtply arrested.

Romero was transported to the NBI-CCD office in Pasay City, where he underwent standard booking procedure. (PNA)
