MANILA – The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested 1,743 wanted persons amid its intensified anti-crime operations from Feb. 2 to March 8, 2025.

In a statement on Monday, NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin said the Southern Police District (SPD) recorded the highest arrest with 384, followed by Manila Police District (MDP) –381, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) –340, Northern Police District (NDP) –328, Eastern Police District (EDP) –310.

Aberin attributed the record arrests to the success of NCRPO’s “AAA” policing principles –Able, Active, and Allied, where every operation is intelligence-driven, aggressive in execution, and strongly backed by community collaboration.

“This significant increase in arrests is not by chance —it is the result of strategic enforcement, relentless commitment, and the dedication of every NCRPO officer. The message is loud and clear: there is no place for fugitives in Metro Manila,” he said.

Aberin said the NCRPO’s message is clear— this is just the beginning and the arrest operations will continue to intensify, ensuring that criminals are tracked, apprehended, and brought to justice.

“Metro Manila residents are encouraged to stay vigilant and report any criminal activity to their nearest police stations or through NCRPO’s hotline. Together, we will build a safer, crime-free metropolis,” he added.

Last Saturday, the NCRPO reported that the focus crime incidents dropped by 17.04 percent from 1,837 from Nov. 23, 2023 to March 2, 2024, to 1,524 from Nov. 23, 2024 to March 2, 2025.

Focus crimes include murder, homicide, rape, physical injury, carnapping of motorcycles and motor vehicles, and theft. (PNA)
