NDRRMC: 2 dead, 4 hurt in Holy Week incidents

MANILA, Apr 4 (Mabuhay) — At least two people were killed while four were injured in incidents recorded during the Holy Week, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.

In its 10 p.m. Friday update, the NDRRMC said the two fatalities drowned in Valencia City in Bukidnon last March 29.

The two were identified as Novie Jane Sumili, 14; and Glezel Jane Salahay, 18, who drowned in Lake Apo in Barangay Guinoyoran in Valencia City, Bukidnon in Mindanao.

Both were reported missing last March 29. Their remains were found on April 1.

Meanwhile, four people were injured after being hit by waves in Barangay Sibali in Diquisit town in Aurora, the NDRRMC said.

Only one of them was identified – Edmon Esperancilla, 37, the NDRRMC said.

Aurora is one of the areas where Typhoon Chedeng (Maysak) is due to make landfall early Sunday. (MNS)
