MANILA – The National Food Authority (NFA) on Wednesday warned the public against impersonation scams.

In a statement, the NFA expressed dismay over the fraudulent activity conducted via messaging app Viber.

“NFA Administrator Larry Lacson strongly condemns these deceitful and unlawful activities, which not only violate the policies of the NFA but also undermine public trust in our institution,” it said.

The agency warned the public that a certain Viber number, 0912-663-9548, is being used to impersonate Lacson.

“This person is misusing Administrator Lacson’s name and profile photo to deceive NFA officials, employees, and stakeholders requesting personal favors or attempting to extract sensitive information,” it added.

It urged the victims and other concerned citizens to immediately report any suspicious message or malicious act to the NFA via email at administrator@nfa.gov.ph|publicaffairs@nfa.gov.ph or contact them via 0917-113-9347. (PNA)
