CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The police in Northern Mindanao confiscated PHP2.1 million worth of shabu in a three-day anti-drug operation following the May 12 elections, officials reported Friday.

Separate busts in Cabalangsan, Bukidnon; Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental; and Iligan City netted PHP2 million worth of illegal drugs.

Additional operations in Valencia City and Quezon town, Bukidnon netted PHP103,000 and PHP63,000 worth of drugs respectively.

“We’re working to eliminate illegal drugs and maintain safer communities,” Police Regional Office-10 Director Brig. Gen. Jaysen de Guzman said in his report.

The operations occurred May 14 to 16 as 400 police officers returned from election duty in the Bangsamoro region. (PNA)
