LEGAZPI CITY – A member of the New People’s Army (NPA) facing an attempted murder case was nabbed during a manhunt operation in Masbate province on Thursday, a police report said.
Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5), identified the suspect as “Romi” of Aroroy, Masbate, who had been hiding from the authorities for nearly a decade.
“The Masbate Police Provincial Office arrested the suspect during the operation conducted on Thursday in District No. 2, San Jacinto, Masbate,” Calubaquib said on Friday.
She said the rebel’s attempted murder charge was docketed under Criminal Case No. 1677-2015 with a recommended bail amount of PHP120,000.
Calubaquib said the suspect is a member of Saligang Prolitaryado sa Lokalidad (SPL) Larangan 4, Platoon 2, Kilusan Larangan Guerilla” (KLG) North, Sub Regional Committee (SRC4), Bicol Regional Party Committee (BRPC) under the command of Eliseo Cabarles alias “Ka Kiko.”
“The suspect is now under the custody of San Jacinto MPS (Municipal Police Station) for proper documentation, processing, and disposition,” she added. (PNA)
