CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – An 81-day anti-drug crackdown across Central Luzon has resulted in the arrest of over 2,000 individuals and seizure of PHP77.5 million worth of narcotics, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) said on Wednesday.

In a news release, PRO-3 said it carried out 1,494 operations from Jan. 10 to March 31 that led to the arrest of 2,310 individuals, including 99 high-value targets.

“These efforts dealt a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the region,” PRO-3 chief Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said.

Seized during the operations were 11.11 kg. of shabu, 14.85 kg. of marijuana and 151.59 grams of kush, all valued at approximately PHP77.54 million

“Our relentless efforts have made a significant impact, and we remain steadfast in our mission to create a safer, drug-free Central Luzon,” Fajardo said as she lauded the efforts of PRO-3’s units.

Beyond law enforcement, Fajardo said PRO-3 continues to strengthen its collaborative approach in dealing with the illegal drug problem, working closely with local government units, community organizations, and the public to foster vigilance and proactive involvement.

She encouraged residents to report any drug-related activities, reaffirming that a safer Central Luzon requires the active participation of both law enforcement and the community.

During his third State of the Nation Address in July last year, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. pledged to continue the bloodless anti-narcotics drive, emphasizing that extermination is not a part of his administration’s campaign. (PNA)
