CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Over 2,000 wanted individuals in Central Luzon were arrested in the first quarter of the year, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) said Monday.
In a news release, PRO-3 said of the 2,017 arrested individuals, 393 were classified as “most wanted.”
“The apprehension of these individuals, especially those involved in heinous crimes, sends a strong message —accountability is inevitable,” PRO-3 chief Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said.
Fajardo said among those arrested were 108 who are facing murder charges, 76 facing rape charges, 59 facing robbery charges, and 150 who are facing charges related to illegal drugs.
She said the intensified operations to arrest these individuals spanned multiple provinces in Central Luzon, and utilized intelligence-driven strategies and strengthened coordination among various police units.
“We will not allow criminals to escape justice,” she added.
Fajardo said the PRO-3, under the guidance of Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, continues to refine its operations and foster collaboration with local communities to enhance peace and security across the region.
The PRO-3 chief called on the public to support law enforcement efforts by reporting suspicious individuals and wanted persons still at large.
“Community support is crucial in our success,” Fajardo said. “We urge everyone to remain vigilant and work hand-in-hand with the police to ensure that justice is served.” (PNA)
