MANILA – The Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3) on Tuesday said its operatives arrested 3,674 suspects, including 783 most wanted persons (MWPs) from Jan. 10 to June 8 under the leadership of Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo.

In a statement on Tuesday, Fajardo said the 783 are categorized as “city and municipal” MWPs while the remaining 2,891 are listed as “other wanted persons.”

She said among the arrested MWPs, 35 have been charged with murder, 155 with rape, 24 for robbery, 124 related to illegal drugs, and 445 with various charges.

These numbers, she said, are clear proof of the effectiveness of PRO3’s intensified campaign in the pursuit and capture of criminals who the law has long wanted.

Fajardo said the series of arrests also reflects PRO3’s relentless efforts to establish order, security, and justice, in response to the President Ferdinand Marcos administration’s Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines).

Fajardo lauded the dedication and hard work of the PRO3 personnel and emphasized the importance of thorough intelligence gathering, proper coordination, and quick action in operations.

“Hindi namin hahayaang makatakas sa kamay ng batas ang mga pinaghahanap na kriminal. Ang pagkakaaresto sa mga ito, lalo na sa mga sangkot sa mabibigat na krimen, ay nagpapadala ng malinaw na mensahe — na ang pananagutan ay hindi maiiwasan. Mananatili kaming tapat sa aming tungkulin na tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayan (We will not allow wanted criminals to escape the hands of the law. Their arrest, especially those involved in serious crimes, sends a clear message — that accountability is inevitable. We will remain true to our duty to ensure the safety of every citizen),” said Fajardo. (PNA)
